Job Work Order Management Guide
Managing Job Work Efficiently
For job work units, managing customer materials and delivering on time is the core business. Chaos in tracking leads to lost material and lost customers.
The Lifecycle of a Job Work Order
1. Order Receipt & Inward Challan
When customer material arrives, verify quantity and quality immediately. Create an Inward Challan referencing the customer's DC (Delivery Challan).
2. Job Card Generation
Create a Job Card detailing:
- Customer Name
- Process Required (e.g., Turning, Milling, Plating)
- Drawing/Specifications
- Target Date
3. Stage-wise Tracking
Track the material as it moves through different processes. Use a Route Card or traveler tag that moves with the bin.
4. Quality Inspection
Before dispatch, perform Final Quality Control (FQC). Record accepted and rejected quantities.
5. Dispatch & Billing
Generate a Delivery Challan for the finished goods. Create an invoice for the service charges (Job Work Charges).
Key Challenges & Solutions
| Challenge | Solution |
|---|---|
| Customer Material Mix-up | Tag every bin with Customer Name & Job ID. |
| Material Shortage | Reconcile input vs. output + scrap for every batch. |
| Billing Disputes | Get signed acknowledgment on Delivery Challans. |
