Quality & Inspection
AQL (Acceptable Quality Level)
The maximum percentage of defects that is considered acceptable in a batch during inspection.
AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) is used in sampling inspections to determine if a batch meets quality standards without checking every single unit.
Common AQL Levels
- AQL 0.65: Very strict, for critical components
- AQL 1.5: Standard for most manufacturing
- AQL 2.5: Relaxed, for non-critical items
- AQL 4.0: Very relaxed, cosmetic defects only
Lower AQL means stricter quality requirements and larger sample sizes.
